I agree from an idiomatic perspective. Done properly, design should be a huge consideration in the development process.

In my experience, more often than not design is something discussed during sprint planning — when it is too late — , or when estimating tasks — when there are still too many unknowns. Could very well be down poor execution, it just has never felt right to me.

I don’t necessarily think Scrum couldn’t work in any manifestation. But the fact that very frequently discussions about Scrum or even Agile end up being semantic discussions indicate to me at least that the two have a definition problem, at the very least.

It’s everybody’s scrum — as in everybody has their own implementation or manifestation, which is interesting for a framework which — as per the official guide — is immutable.
